Black Lace Coffa Bag
The coffa is the basket of the Sicilian rural tradition used in the past to feed the horses or as a container placed on mules and used for the transport of the material. These typical baskets are obtained from the handcrafted weaving of the curina, the tender and very resistant part of the Sicilian dwarf palm leaves, which has the shape and beauty of a normal palm plant while remaining small in size.
Today the coffa changes appearance. Once the clothes of a humble but useful work tool were stopped, it was revisited, adorned and transformed into an original women's bag. Artistically decorated by hand in Sicilian style with embroidery, mirrors, ribbons, small traditional images, it retains its cultural roots in the history of Sicily.
